Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso has suggested why Paris Saint-Germain defeated his team 4-0 in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final tie on Wednesday night.
Alonso watched as four goals from Fabian Ruiz (two), Ousmane Dembele and Goncalo Ramos gave Luis Enrique's side the victory against the Los Blancos.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Alonso admitted that Real Madrid made repeated mistakes against PSG.
The Spaniard also said that the third goal his team conceded which was scored by Ruiz killed Madrid.
Alonso said:
"We need to stop repeating the same mistakes. It is not smart.
"We suffered a lot today, like others have already suffered PSG this season.
"They are an incredible team. "If we finished the first half 2-0, it would've been possible to come back. But the third goal killed us."
The defeat means Real Madrid have exited the competition and will now focus on their pre-season.
